Home of the Jesuits in Amsterdam

Constructed in 1881 after the ban on visibile Catholic churches was lifted, De Krijtberg, which means "Chalk Mountain" due to the materials used from southern England to build it, is home to the Jesuit order in Amsterdam.

The church also stands on the site of a hidden church that belonged to a merchant that was later destroyed after the ban ended. The present church was built in the neo-gothic style.
