Miracle of Amsterdam (Location of Former Chapel)
NL Amsterdam-Centrum Amsterdam
See route
A Eucharistic miracle occurred at this location on March 15, 1345, which is now marked by a column.
When a man was critically ill, he was issued last rites and offered holy communion. After consuming it, he spat out the host. As liturgical rites dictate, the priest had the host thrown into the fire. Once the fire had dissipated, the host was found there completely unharmed.
A Catholic Church was then built at the site, but was later destroyed during the Reformation and replaced with a Protestant church.
