Timeless Treasures of Lisbon and the Jesuits

The Museum of St. Roque is directly attached to the church but also reachable via the museum's main entrance. It was created in 1906 and initially called the "Museum of the Treasure of the Chapel of Saint John the Baptist".  The intention was to hold various precious vestments, artifacts and baroque artistic masterpieces that arrived from Rome or were created in Portugal. Renovations took places in 2006 and 2008, and today the museum also holds the Jesuit's regional sacred art collection.
