Santa Croce: Known as Florence's Pantheon

The Basilica di Santa Croce, built from 1295, showcases Florentine Gothic style with its wide, well-lit nave and stunning stained glass windows. Renowned for Giotto’s frescoes, it features chapels adorned by prominent Florentine families. Famous as a pantheon due to its many tombs, it houses the tombs of Michelangelo, Galileo, and Machiavelli.

The Pazzi Chapel, designed by Brunelleschi, is a Renaissance masterpiece. One can view the wooden Crucific created by the famed Donatello in the Bardi di Vernio Chapel. Santa Croce remains a vibrant museum complex, preserving the artistic and historical legacy of Florence.
