The Church of Saint Stephen (Santo Stefano) was founded in the 13th century by Augustinian monks and later rebuilt over the next two centuries in Venetian Gothic style. It is dedicated to Saint Stephen, who is honoured as the first Christian martyr, known for his faith and courage. Inside the church, visitors can see important artworks by masters such as Tintoretto, Vivarini, and Pietro Lombardo.
